Mitch O’Connell is, among other things, a tattoo flash designer. 250 of his designs are collected in MITCH O’CONNELL: TATTOOS. The good news, for all of you tattoo and Mitch lovers in Tokyo, is that he’s making an appearance on Thursday, September 4th, at “The Ghetto“. Here’s Mitch from his MySpace blog:
I’ll be at “The Ghetto” (www.theghettotokyo.com) Thursday, September 4th for my first ever M.O’C gallery show in the exotic land of Japan! The Ghetto is located @ 1-1-10 Hyakuninchou Shinjyukuku in the big city of TOKYO! Crystal Morey, amazing publisher of the top notch japanese art/tattoo themed Gomineko Books (www.gominekobooks.com), has generously taken it upon herself to put this whole thing together! Thanks to the wonders of Myspace, I emailed a few folks on my friend list that might have ties to the ins ‘n outs of the Tokyo gallery scene thinking, “It sure would be fun to have a show in Tokyo”, and Crystal, who I’ve never met or talked to before, took on the task as if we had blood ties. I now owe her a hell of a visit if she makes her way to Chicago! Even if no one shows up I’m gonna take a picture of a crowd somewhere and claim they were all waiting outside to get in (look for it in my pic section soon). My game plan is to tell everyone there that I’m the most popular artist in America, and when I get back, tell everyone that I’m a cultural phenomena in Tokyo! I just might be able to pull it off!
