Last Gasp Publishing 2008

Last Gasp is one of the largest independent publishers and distributors of books in the world. Our weird ‘n’ wonderful, intelligent and stimulating books can be found in fine bookstores and libraries on six continents.

We’ve been hard at work this past year, teaming with galleries, museums, artists and authors, to bring you some incredible curations and creations. We seem to be looking west from San Francisco of late, and have many publications focusing on Asia, beginning with two fine photography books: China Tattoo by acclaimed photographer Chris Wroblewski, and Ten Southeast Asian Tribes from Five Countries by David Howard.

Our graphic novels range from the absurdly humorous Tokyo Zombie to the serious anti-war books Barefoot Gen and Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms. Our recent Tintin titles have garnered praise from The New York Times and School Library Journal, among others, and we continue to produce works on Tintin’s creator, Hergé.

Closer to home, we have new monographs collecting the art of Gary Baseman, Tony Fitzpatrick, Chris Mars, Scott Harrison, and The Pizz. Lastly, we are proud to present a special boxed set collecting the sold-out and sought-after first four volumes of Hi-Fructose magazine.

Many thanks to all those who have helped nurture these publications to their fruition, and thanks to you, Dear Reader, for choosing Last Gasp as your source for the best in independent publishing.

Cheers,

Ron Turner, Colin Turner, and the Staff of Last Gasp
