Agents Of Chaos

Wouldn’t YOU want a party like this honoring the release of your book?  Of course you would!

Because it’s a book release party, when you buy a ticket, you ALSO get the option of buying the book – a hilarious history of the late 20th century’s premier pranksters including amazing color photos and never-before-publicly-admitted-to-exploits – for half price!

•    Order a book in advance, with your ticket, and it’s just $20!
•    Buy a book at the show and it will be $25 with proof of ticket.
•    Wait until the book’s in stores, and it’s $40.
What are you waiting for!  Come see the Yes Men!  Come honor Cacophony!

The whole thing is at San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre, on May 31.  Pre-show is 7 – 9, featuring incredible video clips from the historic “Weird TV” archive of Cacophony in action!  Show is 9-10:30.  Post-show … while you get your books signed (we’re not sure from who yet.  Maybe the janitor.  We’re working on it) … is the tragic documentary about the world’s worst clowns (and it’s all true) CIRCUS REDICKULESS, by Phil Glau.
Buy a ticket!  Order a book! It’ll change your life!

When I Was A Kid – Available NOW!

Boey 'When I Was A Kid'

The U.S. edition of When I Was A Kid is available now from Last Gasp! When I Was A Kid is artist, Cheeming Boey (best known as simply “Boey”)’s, hilarious graphic novel about his formative years spent growing up in Malaysia. He recollects in great detail the comical pain of innocence and discovery which shaped his (and every) childhood. Readers will feel a pang of recognition as Boey recounts thwarted dreams, lies that adults like to tell children, and the trouble that arises from the volatile combination of curiosity mixed with boredom. The first edition of When I Was A Kid is already a best-seller overseas so it’s time for the rest of us to catch up.

Boey is an animator, artist, author, and TED Award recipient. For many years, he has entertained a loyal throng of readers through his daily blog, I Am Boey.

Boey’s Coffee Cups
Boey first became well-known when his drawings on coffee cups became a viral internet sensation. Word of his cup art circled around the internet and eventually attracted the attention of the Sharpie company who featured him in their ad campaign “Start With Sharpie“. Here he is talking about his path as an artist and how he got started making drawings on cups:

Although Boey first began making cup art several years ago, people still can’t get enough of them. They were featured on “Good Morning, America!” just yesterday.

Boey’s World Tour
If you cannot believe how awesome he is and need to see Boey with your own two eyes, you’re in luck because he will be making several appearances in the U.S. this summer and then again winter 2013. Keep your eyes peeled for event listings in places such as the San Diego Comic Con, Charles Schulz Museum, Cartoon Art Museum, Mission Comics, the Radar Reading Lab, and much more. Please check the Last Gasp blog for more updates.
