Cartoonist Keiji Nakazawa was seven years old and living in Hiroshima in the early days of August 1945 when the city was destroyed by an atomic bomb dropped by the U.S.A. Volume One begins shortly before the bomb was dropped, and ends on the day of the bombing itself.

Up there with Akira, and Slam Dunk.

Another great manga, but there is a few flaws: 1) As a first, it's flopped, but the artwork is not altered! Which I think is great. 2) The Japanese sound FX are replaced with English, I would prefer putting a tag at the bottom of the panel saying: JP FX: Viiiiiin (EN: Shoooooom). I consider that altering the artwork. 3) Sometimes they just roughly translate the dialouge, and sometimes add extra exclamation points when they don't need them.
